Holidays: Try an English Country Cottage

With so much history, culture and heritage, visitors cannot help but fall in love with

these holiday properties that have been sympathetically built of locally sourced stone and designed to offer exceptional contemporary open-plan living that makes the most of their unique country location.

Amidst open countryside, some English country cottages are large detached farmhouse. This is an ideal holiday venue for the family and a getting together for celebrations.

Explore the National Park on foot or by bike with footpaths and tracks beginning at the doorstep, discovering quaint little villages with excellent pubs from gastro to the traditional country inn. Golf, horse riding and fishing are all available locally. Or maybe just sit back and relax beside the stove when the weather is inclement, pour out a chilled glass of wine and enjoy the stunning views. This can all done in a world where time and space are in abundance

It is a short drive to the pretty villages.

After a day's sightseeing guests can return to enjoy dining in traditional Village pub with an excellent menu and first class draught ales.

In North Yorkshire Moors and coastline, there is so much history, culture and heritage, visitors cannot help but fall in love with it. Further afield, visit the historic city of York with its minster, ancient walls and cobbled streets. There are also the lovely towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering, where the steam train can be boarded.

You will also find tourist information to help you plan your stay and make it more enjoyable. Some of the English country cottages are just a few minutes walk from buses/pubs and shops. Yet near enough to London Liverpool St. - so maybe you are only just over an hour away from London's West End for shopping, sightseeing or taking in a show.

Other places you have Linton Zoo, Mole Hall Wildlife Park, The House on the Hill Toy Museum, Mountfitchet Castle & Norman Village of 1066, Audley End House and Gardens. Further afield you have the University town of Cambridge with punting on the River Cam, excellent restaurants, pubs, shopping and the Corn Exchange Theatre. Braintree with its designer shopping village, Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town and zoo, Southend-on-Sea for the longest pleasure pier in the world, fish and chips and slot machines. The list goes on. For golfers there are three clubs Bishop's Stortford, Elsenham and Saffron Walden. There are regular buses throughout the day to take you to Stansted Airport where you can take the Stansted Express or catch a coach to practically anywhere in the country. There is also a bus service to Saffron Walden, Dunmow and Bishop's Stortford - where you can also connect to other services.

So going to an English country cottage offers all the variety of having a relaxing or active holiday.
