English schools in the USA and Canada

British Columbia - Vancouver
School:Pan Pacific College <[email protected]>

Established in 1988, Pan Pacific College is one of the oldest and most respected language and career development schools in Vancouver. Our teaching philosophy is founded on the belief that a positive learning experience is fostered by a strong and vibrant community of students, teachers and support staff. We are proud of our varied and talented body of current students and alumni.

As part of our commitment to facilitate development in all language skill areas and at all competency levels our ESL program has been divided into six comprehensive levels.

Foundation curriculum for Elementary to Intermediate level students is Cambridge’s (KET) Key English Test and (PET) Preliminary English Test. Course syllabi at this level emphasize core language targets; speaking, listening, reading and writing. To further facilitate this, comprehensive testing is done twice a month and detailed feedback is consistently provided so learning benchmarks can be attained. Internationally recognized Cambridge certification may be arranged for students who qualify.

Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels continue to expand these core abilities with more challenging assignments like presentations, essays and comprehensive listening intensives built around the daily news and popular TV programs. Again speaking, writing, reading and listening strategies allow learners to build on the foundations established at the earlier levels.

Our professional programs include three diploma courses; ITDP (Interpretation and Translation Diploma Program),TTEC (TESOL for Teaching English to Children), TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Another Language) and Business Communication. Both TESOL and Business Communication students have the option of international certification through Cambridge’s TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) and BEC (Business English Certificate). We also offer two one month certification course; TTEC (TESOL for Teaching English to Children) and JPP(Job Preparation Program).

PPC is recognized by Immigration Canada, and can issue an Official Letter of Acceptance, required for all Student Authorizations (Student Visa). We are fully bonded and registered with PCTIA (the Private Career Training Institutions Agency) of British Columbia. On-sight counseling in Japanese, Korean and English gives PPC students the comfort of having someone who can help them with all the challenges of living abroad for the first time.
