Travel Tips
So you are one of those individuals who like to travel alone or have to travel alone because could not find someone to travel with. No problem. Contrary to popular belief, I have found that traveling alone can have an entire set of Pros in itself. It makes you aware of things you probably never knew; about the world, about yourself.
Traveling alone helps you reconnect with yourself, we start feeling those senses which we had never experienced before. For example when I travel alone I have this heightened sense of freedom and 'can do everything' feeling which I don't realize in daily living. It gives me a sense of confidence which I don't feel aware of in regular living. I also drape an extra active, vigilant and protective shell over myself which is not witnessed usually, amongst friends and family. Point to note here is that traveling alone is not making me a different individual, but makes me aware of my personality extensions. I am this, and so much more.
However, my long years of traveling alone have given me a glimpse into precautions and other things that I can do while moving around:
- Keep in constant touch with your family or friends about your whereabouts
- Meet a lot of people; interact - after all that's a great joy of traveling alone.
- Make sure you draw a line as to how involved you want to get with some stranger on an unknown land. Don't divulge information or undertake any action which could be of potential harm.
- Try new things, not just one but many. These small experiences would make your journey more and more memorable.
- Make a contact with local people who are interested in meeting over a cup of coffee or something through buddy and travel websites. This way you have someone waiting for you already before you land and it can turn into great friendships.
- Keep a cell phone, phone no's, passport and credentials with you all the time. You don't want to get into trouble with out these things. Traveling alone can be real fun. Try it to know it.
