Sweet-Face Oxen: Child's Poem - ESL Teacher Robin Day Lesson
Sweet-Face Oxen
I'd love to ride a cow or ox,
to scratch its ear,
to walk and talk.
They are such kindly beasts you know,
to bear us forth
to reap or sow.
I'd lay or sit or sing or play
upon my buddy's back a day.
I'd blow my flute,
reach, pick a fruit
or maybe strum upon my lute.
And as the evening sun does fall
we'd trundle back to our home stall.
