English schools in Latin America
Our Volunteers teach English to children, teens and adults in three different locations in Nicaragua: San Juan del Sur, Granada, Leon.
Often teaching is done through simple conversation along with a local teacher in school classrooms or at intensive summer camps where lessons take place in a variety of non-traditional settings. On some days, you’ll meet your students for informal English language training. At other times, instructions may take the form of field trips games or other organized events.
You can be a valuable resource in English language classroom teaching children, teens and adults. The emphasis of both the classroom teaching and the small-group tutoring is on improving real-life conversational skills, not formal rules of grammar. You’ll usually teach four hours a day, Monday through Friday, and have four hours each day to collaborate with your teammates and prepare for class.
