There are NO GOOD SCHOOLS anywhere in China, private, or public. Its all a huge scam.
It is meaningless to contest what qualifies as a 'good school'. Institutions are corrupt by nature. Harvard's legacy of cherry picking of elite kids has generated an 'endowment' of $37 billion. Is that good or bad in a country with a segregated school system where minority urban students parade through metal detectors?
The question for readers of this site is: should foreign nationals teach in China?
My decade of experience teaching in five universities in four provinces has not been without struggle, but it has been a gratifying and enlightening experience.
If one's focus is income and quality of life, teaching in China is a poor choice. If your goal is to expand your personal experiences to include interaction with respectful diligent foreign students in a country experiencing rapid transformative growth, China rocks.
