Greetings,

I am pleased to offer my application for your consideration. Your emphasis on project-based, expressive learning resonates with my best, and most successful, teaching experiences. While teaching at SLP in Sanbon, in addition to standard curriculum, I taught custom courses in essay writing and poetry which focused on student projects.

I volunteered at Simin Presbyterian Church for several months, earned my yellow belt in Taekwondo (in the same building where I was employed!), and otherwise focused my free time on my students. I also moderated the Graduation Ceremony in the spring.

At University College Dublin, I earned a 3.89 g.p.a. while serving as Class Representative and writing, casting, producing, and directing an original stage play. I organized and led writing workshops, outings, and became an active resource for my peers.
My teaching experience culminates in full-time teaching at a private school in the United States. I gained experience teaching classes, developing lesson plans for a full arts and sciences curriculum, and completed comprehensive classroom management training.

I look forward to learning more about your school.

Thank you kindly for your consideration, Best, Ryan David Foster page 1 of 2

Further Information:

I am seeking a challenging position as a teacher, curriculum designer, or development professional at an established institution or at an interesting startup.

Priorities

1. Role: I am seeking a position that will build upon skills in instructional tech, curriculum design and development, college admissions prep, and/or the like. Job description and recommendation for professional development is my top priority.
2. Salary: Salary is secondary to the position, but I am looking for competitive offers from schools/organizations that can benefit the most from my skills/experience.
3. Location: If I haven’t been there, then it’s about time. I am highly adaptable and enjoy both rural and urban settings.
4. Documents: I have dual US/EU citizenship and hold up-to-date visa documents.

I have a strong liberal arts background and facility with using technology to create educational materials (Adobe InDesign, Powerpoint videos/video lessons).
*Prospective employers may contact me to request a custom sample project.

My teaching philosophy

1. Algorithmic Lesson Planning: clear, well-defined steps to learning outcomes 2. Active Teaching/ Active Learning: well-prepared lessons, engaging students through consistent testing for comprehension 3. Conceptual Control: warm-ups and games to train student ability to retain and manipulate information Best, Ryan David Foster page 2 of 2
