Hello teachers:
I am a former teacher at California Sunshine school in Harbin. In fact, I was hired when the school first started and worked there about two years. The owners are the kind of people you enjoy knowing. I found them to be fair in all of their dealing concerning contracts and it's a pleasent place to work. Situated near HIT, Harbin Institute of Technology, in a new building with many other businesses. The atmosphere of the school is
bright and modern, glass walled classrooms, media room, a computer room with many terminals. The other big plus in my opinion is the neigborhood. Typical but unique are the street markets, railroad street, and a main commercial street. Lots of places to eat. It is also located in one of the better parts of the city, within a short taxi ride to many places you will end up going to.
If you like winter and nice summers Harbin is great for taking daytrips in both seasons. For the most part as in many parts of China, I find the people of Harbin to be curious and quite friendly. Hey I've been here over 2.5 years. One warning the winter air is a bit chunky as the electric and central heating is fired by coal. Hey you have to heat the place.
