Travel, Teach, Live in China
I am reading all this stuff about China, its ups, its downs and finding it all very interesting. I am debating the possibility of accepting a job offer in Beijing and have been reading this column almost everyday trying to glean as much info as possible.
I have admit that I had a smile today, as I read cha yin zhe comments - old stuff. I can imagine how him/her must have made a lot of people irate with his comments which are similar to those of another I read sometime ago - telling people to go home if they do not like the situation. I know you hit a nerve there cha yin zhe - whoever you are.
As a black Canadian, I have heard those words from white Canadians so many times in the 30+years I have lived in this, yes, beautiful country. And by the way, that is only for commenting on something like 'the weather' literally, nothing really serious like the stuff being discussed here. I suppose a lot of whites are finally getting a taste of their own medicine - can't handle being a minority, can't handle not being in control, can't handle not being the last word. Oh well, I suppose life goes on!
