Articles for Teachers
You so often look for pictures of things in your classroom--and the Internet is the perfect place to find them. Now, finding pictures on the Internet is easy--but refining your search and then knowing what to do with the pictures after you have them can save you tons of time. Let's take a look at some of the ways to find and use pictures from the Internet.
1
Go to Google and click on "Images" and enter whatever you are looking for. The more specific you are, the fewer results you will get.
2
Refine your search by specifying the picture size you want. Your choices include: Extra large, large, medium or small. Your choice will depend on what you are using the picture for.
3
Click on "Advanced Image Search" to narrow your search even further.
4
Specify what format you are searching for. I would estimate that 95 percent of the time you will be searching for a jpg which is by far the most universal image format.
5
Specify if you are looking for a color image or black and white image.
6
Drag the picture to your desktop or right-click the image and go to "Save As." The image is now yours to do whatever you want with (except sell it!).
