Las Vegas is famous for casino gambling, shows, and getting married. Weddings in Las Vegas can range from quick and cheap to grand and luxurious. Weddings can be based on the couple's hobbies, old country chapels, or in the large rentable rooms of the most popular casinos.
Planet Hollywood Wedding Chapel
The most famous type of wedding in Las Vegas is administered by an Elvis Presley impersonator. The Planet Hollywood Wedding Chapel is an historic location for such as wedding as Elvis himself was married at the resort to Priscilla Presley in 1967. The resort was known as the Aladdin at the time, but Planet Hollywood has continued the tradition. As Elvis's wedding ceremony was only eight minutes long, the wedding packages offered at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas are generally very short affairs, from a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes at the ceremony location. Various packages are available to customize the experience to the couple.
Graceland Wedding Chapel
While the Aladdin, now Planet Hollywood, was the physical location of Elvis's wedding in 1967, that location, along with most of the other structures in Las Vegas, was torn down and replaced. The Graceland Wedding Chapel has been in the same place as the same building for over 50 years. While Elvis was not married here, it is the site of the original wedding ceremony performed by an Elvis impersonator. The chapel is free standing, meaning not attached to any casino or hotel. The Graceland Wedding Chapel has been a choice location for celebrity weddings as well, as Jon Bon Jovi, members of Kiss, Def Leppard, and The Thompson Twins have been married here.
The Grove is a private, outdoor wedding location, fully customizable for those seeking to have the wedding of their dreams in Las Vegas. There are various packages available, all with the outdoor location where the marriage takes place under the wooden gazebo on the grounds.
The Tuscany Suites and Casino is one and a half blocks off of the Vegas strip, and offers not only a location for the wedding ceremony, but also venues for the wedding reception. There are various packages for those with different budgets.
For those looking for a more romantic setting for their wedding, the Paris Chapel offers wedding ceremonies atop the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas. The tower overlooks the Las Vegas Strip, and various packages can accommodate between 30 and 90 guests.
The Red Rock Casino and Resort offers another romantic location, although this one is about 10 miles off of the Las Vegas Strip. The quieter and more private location has various packages available, some of which take advantage of Red Rock's natural geographic features, as the name comes from the many layers of exposed rock shows millions of years of the geological history.
Nevada's fifth-highest mountain is Mount Charleston is a short 35 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, and offers a contrast to the extravagance of the Strip. Pine trees and crisp mountain air give weddings a different feel, and the wedding parties are still close enough to the Strip to enjoy a bit of both worlds on their wedding day.
Gondola weddings are available at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. With replica's of Venice's canals, the Venetian not only provides romantic rides on gondolas, but also provides wedding ceremonies that can take place on the gondola. Not many people are able to marry while on such a small boat, but the Venetian makes it possible.
Offering something different is the main theme of Las Vegas when it comes to weddings. The Treasure Island Casino offers a pirate-themed wedding for those who want to wear an eyepatch and hook hand for their wedding ceremony. The wedding takes place on board Treasure Island's pirate ship. A pirate can even swing down from the crow's nest and deliver the wedding rings.
Maverick Helicopter Weddings
Not for those with a fear of heights, the Maverick Helicopter company offers weddings in a variety of locations. The bride and groom arrive via the helicopter and can wed at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, or in the helicopter high above the Las Vegas Strip.
