Attention all aspiring educators out there seeking a unique cultural experience in Yangon, Myanmar!

Teach for ASEAN (T4A) is looking for passionate and committed volunteers who want to make an impact in education and skills development. This is a perfect opportunity for you to hone your teaching skills, gain great teaching experience, as well as to engage in a unique cultural exchange while empowering disadvantaged children and youth.

With our partner children's homes’ and your support, we envision T4A as a sustainable programme that addresses the educational gap in the local school systems, enabling Myanmar youth to be workforce-ready and to pay it forward by sharing their knowledge and abilities with others!

Programme subsidies may be available for those who sign up by 5 April.

About T4A
T4A Pilot in Yangon 2017 aims to allow a group of Myanmar youths to:

Develop employable skills not taught in Myanmar Schools
Gain Opportunities to practise conversational English
Eventually be empowered to share their skills with other Myanmar Youth

In this Pilot, there will be 2 different programmes targeting different profile of youths:
1) English ALIVE! Camp (23 May - 2 June)
Based on a speech-and-drama approach, we engage children who are residents at a Children's Home to practise conversational English.

2) Workplace Skills Programme (May - July 2017)
We set up this programme to train a group of Myanmar youth to become workplace-ready, thus empowering others in their community.
We focus on the following skills:
English: Practise English for Job Interviews & Service Industry Jobs
IT: Basic Workplace Computer Skills (Email, Google Translate, MS Office Suite)
Soft Skills: Practise Working as a Team to deliver a Group Oral Presentation

We will be happy to share about our programme fees, if requested. Volunteers are guaranteed that more than 50% of their fees goes towards their beneficiaries.
