English schools in Europe
Zurich International School is a co-educational international day school in the Zurich area for students aged 3 to 18 and is fully accredited by both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is an IB World School. Over 1200 students from more than 45 countries attend one of the school's four campuses (Early Childhood Center in Kilchberg, Lower School in Wädenswil, Middle School in Horgen and Upper School in Kilchberg). ZIS is committed to excellence in education and the personal growth of every student. Our students love to learn, strive for academic excellence, and respect high community and individual standards.
ZIS was formed in 2001 through the merger of the International Primary School of Zurich and the American International School of Zurich, and today has more than 1,000 students representing over 50 nationalities.
The curriculum for younger children is based on the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organisation, while the Upper School offers both US College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the IB Diploma Programme. Over 90% of ZIS graduates go on to attend universities, colleges and other institutions of higher learning throughout the world, including in Switzerland.
