Things To Do In Croatia
By:Wes Davidson

Croatia and its islands are steadily increasing in popularity. They have been popular with European tourists for years and Americans are slowly catching on to the appeal. Croatia and the Balkans have a history of violence and conflict and that has stunted the growth of the tourism industry. This aspect of Croatia has been highlighted by news coverage and exposed to Americans, which is a shame because the region has so much more to offer. Croatia has been free of internal strife for more than a decade and tourism is on the rise.

Croatia is a spectacular country with the climate to match. It is nestled along the Adriatic coast and the coastline is spectacular. There are beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees, and gorgeous people. Dubrovnik is a highlight amongst the cities of Croatia. The old-world feel of the terracotta rooftops and winding streets that slope gently down to the harbor make Dubrovnik a very special place.

Croatia is also home to over a thousand islands just off the coast of the mainland. Some of the islands have a special designation as national parks and others house massive upscale beach resorts. The coast is not the only source of natural beauty; there are also beautiful parks in the interior of the country as well. One of the most famous and most beautiful is Plitvice Lakes National Park. This park is marked by its numerous caves and waterfalls.

Croatia is a beautiful place to visit year round with its mild temperate climate, so start planning the vacation of a lifetime.
