To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for taking the time to review my application. I am keenly interested in applying for an ESL teaching position with your school in China.

I am a Canadian certified, hard working, team-orientated educator, quick to build rapport and trust with my students and colleagues alike. No matter the endeavour I pursue, I have an outstanding record of academic and career achievement.

Over the course of my academic studies, I have received several distinguished scholarships and have been nominated to the Dean’s List for my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Education degrees. I am currently in the process of completing my M.A. thesis in Chinese Politics from Taiwan’s National Cheng Chi University.

As my resume illustrates, I have over eleven years ESL teaching and managerial experience in private language schools, high schools, and colleges in Canada, Korea, Switzerland, and Taiwan. Having designed and executed ESL courses to an international student body in Switzerland and to Chinese students in Taiwan, I feel my professional qualifications and fluency in Mandarin would be a welcome addition to your school. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and intelligent teacher.

I would welcome an interview and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience. If you should require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me at the above telephone number or email address.

Yours sincerely,
Jason J. Howell
