English schools in China
The British International School was founded in 2002 by the Nord Anglia Education Group, the UK's leading provider of education in the independent sector, to offer a high quality education based on the English National Curriculum for expatriate children in Shanghai from 2-18 years of age.
Our children in Nursery & Reception (Foundation Stage), aged 18 months - 4 years old, follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum based on the recommended UK Early Learning Goals. It acts not only as a transition between home and school, but also develops in children the learning habits necessary to access education at a later age.
The school curriculum based on the National Curriculum (England) applies to all our pupils of statutory school age, Year 1 (5 years old) and above.
Year 12 and 13 students will be offered the International Baccalaureate program.
Our commitment at The British International School Shanghai is to create and maintain a safe, happy and child-centred environment in which children are inspired to become purposeful life long learners. The British International School Shanghai has three campuses; Puxi Minhang, Puxi Nanxiang, and Pudong.
